Life in
Selma – All There is To Do
Impressive recreation, and scouting
programs, two rivers include the Cahaba – one of the most
biologically
diverse rivers in the country, where to go for shopping,
and our new Riverfront Park & Marina
You will experience many firsts in Selma: an invitation to a funeral
of someone you don't know. A nationally famous storyteller may
invite you to a picnic at the cemetery. You'll come across a breathtaking
watercolor painting at our local gallery and not believe it when
you're told the painter is over 90 years old. You will learn that
the correct way to make a BBQ sandwich is with slaw and pickles.
Then one day, you'll be showing your son how to bait a hook for
the first time fishing. And before you know it, your daughter will
be growing up – and you'll feel good that she has friends
of the same character and goals and dreams.
- All one has to do is focus on the things that really
matter, slow down and observe, and then all of a sudden Selma
becomes compelling, comfortable and a delight for living.
Bar-B-Q, fresh produce, and Porshes
(there is no dealership in Selma, but one’s pretty close!)
Golfing,
including the famous Alabama Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, is
at our doorstep
You can "have it all" living in Selma. You will miss
no modern conveniences, buy more, pay less, be in a safer environment,
without large city or suburb issues (from
crime, accidents, and litigiousness, all which result in higher
insurance and costs to do business, to traffic and parking snarls,
which take time from your life), while you live in a community that has real multi century-old
character.
- After viewing this Life in Selma section of our presentation,
you will have no doubts as to why we are "The Shangri-La" of
the southern United States.

Living in Selma (these neighbors are also featured in Our
Selma):
No more this everyday…
Smell more of these…
Selma is not a large
city suburb, so living here means you will
not have immediate access to certain things, like many family and
high end restaurants and store franchises. But there is a “quality
of life” trade off. Life here is about a community with an
identity where you can make wonderful lifetime memories. Here you
will know your city officials and community leaders, and experience
things like a famous artist helping out your child’s summer
camp, your children can safely explore, little league that’s
free for all kids, no commutes, and relaxation every day. Life
in Selma is real, true, and honest. Isn’t
this the best kind of life!
